So how do you know that you’ve picked the right real estate agent?
We’ve set out five tips to help you select the right real estate agent.
A clear interest in meeting your needs. Like we’ve said, the sales process can be tedious and taxing. You will want to have someone who appears focused and desirous of ensuring that your needs and requirements are met in a timely manner.
Are you comfortable? Do you feel comfortable with the agent? You need to make sure you are comfortable with the agent and can have open and honest communications through out the sales process. It’s good to chose and agent who works for you and with you.
Positive references. You may want to ask for a list of recent references and talk with some of the agent’s recent client’s to see what they have to say about their experience with the agent.
Market knowledge. Gauge the agent’s knowledge of the area in which you’re selling or looking to buy your property in. A realistic dialogue about the market, expectations and trends are key. It’s important that the agent you choose knows the area you’re selling or buying in, and knows the other properties for sale, and that have sold recently. The agent should be able to give you a thorough snapshot of the market in your area and surrounding areas.
Check the results. Check the agent’s results, recent property sales, time on the market etc.
